The thread flow I
Abstract: The thread flow is a coupled parabolic pde with boundary conditions. It describes a geometric flow of an n-dimensional manifold with boundary in R^{n+m}, where one part of the boundary remains fixed, the other part moves by a length preserving mean curvature flow, and the interior of the manifold evolves by mean curvature flow.
In this talk we give an introduction to the topic, derive the flow for arbitrary m \geq 0, and proof short time existence for m = 0.

Higher regularity for Brakke flows, part 1
Definition and C^{1,\alpha}-regularity results. Abstract: In this series of talks we want to show the following: Consider a function f such that the graph of f is a Brakke flow and satisfies certain C^{1,\alpha}-bounds. Then f is actually smooth and satisfies the graphical mean curvature flow equation. In the first talk we will recall the definition of a Brakke flow and some basic properties. Afterwards we motivate the setting above by stating Brakke's regularity results.
